dc.description.abstract2 The homes respond to the changes in the global economic activity, through changes in the labor offer of the husband and wife, and the other members of the family. The homes in worse economic situation react in a different way than the middle/upper class homes. This work will try to measure the differentiated effect that the changes in the economic conditions have on the families in terms of labor participation of the spouses and other members of the family, as well as its effect on the scholar attendance of children and young people. The differentials effects will let determine which groups have greater volatility and greater vulnerability to the economic cycles. These results are the key for the social policies' design that resist or mitigate the effect of the cycles on the homes, particularly in the recession periods.
